    Assisted Pullup / Dip Exercises

    Hey guys,

So, I was wondering if assisted pullup and dip exercises are useful for building muscle?

I find that when I'm bring myself up for a pullup, it's too easy, but when I'm pushing myself down I feel the burn.

I know they're not as good as actual pullups, but are they still effective? I don't want to be wasting my time with them. I use my bodyweight for the assisted pull up machine, my gym does not have a pullup bar.

Your gym has an assisted pullup machine, but no regular pullup bar? You can't swing the platform on the assisted machine out of the way?

There is a great video on youtube you can check out - it's by that creepy looking guy "Scooby."

He pretty much tells you how to do it.

Also - remember just stimulating the muscle in the direction you want it to go - in your case dips/pullups - will get you there eventually. It's actually not even that long before you can do 8-10 pull ups/dips if you are consistent!
